It aims to support European democracy by giving people the information they need to hold the EU establishment to account. == History == Established in 2000, EUobserver claims to be the largest online daily news site focused on the EU with over 60,000 daily readers and the second most read EU-related news source used by journalists after the ''Financial Times''. The website's editor-in-chief is Lisbeth Kirk, Danish journalist, the wife of Jens-Peter Bonde, a former Danish Member of the European Parliament who used to co-chair the Independence and Democracy group of eurocritical MEPs in the European Parliament.
